For Tuesday, September 30 and Oct 1

Hi everyone!

I have posted the questions and the article to the wiki so that you can finish your assignment.

Read the next section in the chapter, pgs. 102-106. This information should be very familiar for you. There is a membrane transport tutorial on your cd so check it out.

For those of you that will not be in class on Wednesday because of Raisin in the Sun, you need to visit the following websites and complete the tutorials and the problem sets:

For Monday, September 29th

Hi everyone!

Over the weekend, read the beginning of Chapter 5 (pgs. 95-101). The focus is the composition of the cell membrane in great detail and information about how scientists were able to determine the composition. Spend time on Figure 5-6 on page 99. You should be able to sketch the membrane and explain the functions of each component of the membrane (phospholipids, cholesterol, peripheral proteins, integral proteins, glycolipids). Answer the four review questions on page 101. TO BE CHECKED IN CLASS!
